●Why a community needs its own platform
The Ahir samaj is spread across hundreds of villages in Gujarat and in cities all over India and abroad. Most of the community's life online happens in WhatsApp groups: useful, but scattered. Messages get lost, nobody can tell who is really a member, and finding someone from your native village or in a particular profession means asking around group after group.
These are the gaps Ahir Setu is built to close:

Anyone can join a group; there is no way to verify identity.

Registers and lists on paper are hard to keep current.
●My answer: Ahir Setu
Ahir Setu (આહીર સેતુ, "the Ahir bridge") gives the community one verified place online, run by a non-profit community organisation. A member signs up, fills in their details and uploads documents. An admin checks them and approves the member, who then gets a unique Setu ID and a digital ID card. The whole site is in Gujarati first, with English one tap away, and it installs on a phone like an app.

Members register and upload documents; an admin reviews them and approves or asks for changes.

Every approved member gets a unique Setu ID and a card with a QR code, ready to download or share on WhatsApp.

Verified members can find each other in the community directory.
Profession and student details
Profiles carry occupation, and for students the standard or course and school.
Gujarat villages in Gujarati
12,800+ village names in Gujarati, taken from the government’s official Local Government Directory (LGD).
Email notifications
Admins hear about new registrations; members hear when they are approved or need to fix something.
Admin panel
State admins with their own scope, and a verification queue for new members.
Easy sign-in
Sign in with Google, or with a one-time code sent by email.
Installs like an app
Add it to the home screen on Android or iPhone (PWA); it opens full screen, no app store needed.

Sign in
With Google, or with an email code - no password to remember.
Fill in your details
Name, family, native village (picked from the Gujarati village list), profession or studies.
Upload documents
A photo and the documents needed for verification, straight from the phone camera or gallery.
Admin verification
An admin reviews the application and approves it, or explains what needs to change.
Get your Setu ID
Approved members get their Setu ID and digital ID card, and an email to say so.
●Privacy by design
Documents stay private
Uploaded documents sit in private storage and only the verifying admins can see them - never other members or the public.
No Aadhaar number typed
No form asks for an Aadhaar number. A member can also hide their mobile number from other members.
Never sold
Member data is used only to run the community’s services - never sold, rented or used for ads.
